The Oreska Band – 20 Tips

Fresh out of Japan comes a new cure for depression! Listening to ORESKABAND’s cheerful, ska-rock tunes will leave a smile on your face and your head bopping. Alternative Press raves, “goddamn if it’s not the cutest stuff in the world!” It’s hard to disagree.

The teen girl sextet has already taken the Japanese pop music scene by storm with the release of their EP Ore and the 2007 debut LP WAO!! (short for “We Are ORESKABAND!!”). American fans won’t have to wait much longer with the U.S exclusive CD, ORESKABAND, (which combines Ore and WAO!!) set for an August 7th release.

ORESKABAND formed in 2003 when middle school classmates from Osaka, Japan, IKASU, TAE-SAN, LEADER, SAKI, MORIKO, and TOMI met in band class, and decided to start their own band. After building an underground buzz with their energetic live shows, the girls started high school with a record deal – ORESKABAND was signed to Sony Music Japan in 2006.

ORESKABAND made their US live debut this year at SXSW where their infectious songs and personalities made them one of the festival’s top new discoveries. ORESKABAND will return to the US this summer for a performance at the Anime Expo in Long Beach, CA and a string of Warped Tour dates.
