“On Who You Are [Brothers] consciously strives for something much more than just a singer-songwriter album fleshed out with typical studio players. The Nashville-bred Brothers was raised on moody Brit-rock acts such as The Smiths and The Cure…awash in reverb, dreamy synths and shimmering guitars, Who You Are harkens back to the bands that inspired him.”

Cary Brothers (first name Cary, last name Brothers) will hit the road with his trademark collection of dreamy pop songs this summer. Stars of Track & Field and Carina Round are among those supporting Cary’s first U.S. headlining tour.
Cary has created a record that touches upon the many unique types of heartbreak we experience every day. Tunes like “Jealousy” and the title-track “Who You Are” (also the first single) are standouts – in each he explores the complexities of relationships with an incomparable sincerity.
Cary Brothers’ songs have already appeared on the NBC sitcom Scrubs, the FOX mystery Bones, WB’s Smallville, and the successful medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and ER. Brothers’ lyrical ballad “Blue Eyes” was featured on the platinum-selling, Grammy®-winning soundtrack to the hit indie film Garden State. And, last summer, Brothers’ song “Ride” (which can also be found on Who You Are) appeared on the soundtrack to the feature film The Last Kiss, starring Zach Braff, Rachel Bilson and Casey Affleck. Brothers has also performed on the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Scrubs.
It’s also worth noting that Cary Brothers is a founder of the Hotel Café Tour – its humble roots derived from a close-knit family of local talent whom embody the spirit of The Hotel Café venue in Hollywood, CA. Cary found his musical voice playing regularly as part of this talented musical coterie, and has since brought his tremendous live show across North America, touring with the likes of Liz Phair, KT Tunstall, Aqualung, Imogen Heap and The Fray.
